Allergies seem to be one of the most severe health problems in the Bichon Frise. The breed often has seasonal allergies due to a wide spread of fleas. When bitten, the dog tends to chew himself causing a lot of damage. It is a pitiful sight, indeed. Allergies can also originate from food. It is advised to treat the problem after having consulted a veterinarian. The type of medication is prescribed on the basis of the cause of the allergy.

To avoid bladder problems, supply the dog with fresh water. Bladder stones management should include a special diet and the use of antibiotics. Treatment is applied until the urinary stones are dissolved. Treatment can take from a few weeks to a few months on the condition the owner follows all the recommendations of the veterinarian. Surgery is also used while treating affected Bichon Frises.
